Nature: AH (presumably AH[2]) winner of 1808 competition; also contractor. FS laid 28 Oct 1814, when 'Mr Hargrave, jun., in the absence of his brother, the architect, presented a silver trowel to Mr Aldridge'. Built on slob reclaimed at cost of £10,000. Opened for business,1 Oct 1818.  Cost: £70,000.
