Nature: Designed by PFP with Joseph Mallagh.  Opened by Archbishop of Dublin, 7 Jun 1932. Believed to be earliest recorded use of cantilevered construction in reinforced concrete. Constructed by Gray's Ferro-Concrete (Ireland Ltd.) under supervision of  F.W. Bond, AMICE, for Dublin Port and Docks Board. Contractors' resident engineer: T.A. Simington, BAI.
