Engineer and architect, of Dundalk, Co. Louth. Peter William Cahill, son of PETER CAHILL PETER CAHILL and his wife, Julia (née Prescott) was born in Co. Louth on 19 Jun 1873. In 1909 he was appointed town surveyor for Cootehill, Co. Cavan, a post which he held until 1922 or later. He is described as the Louth county engineer in 1914 by P.J. Geraghty, while the Irish Builder records works by him up until 1925. He died in 1926 or 1927. At the time of the 1911 census he had been married to his wife, Lily, for three years and had a son who was also called Peter William.
