Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect and civil engineer, of Cork and Limerick, active in the 1870s and 1880s.  Charles Wilson Atkins is listed in Fulton's City of Cork Directory for 1871,(1) in Bassett's Limerick City Directory for1884 and in the Limerick section of Guy's Directory of Munster for 1886.  When he applied for associateship of the Institution of Civil Engineers of Ireland in 1882, he stated that he had undergone a regular pupilage and had practised his profession for 'many years', during which he had supervised 'several important works'.(2)
