Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Scene painter, of Dublin, for whom see Walter G. Strickland, Dictionary of Irish Artists (1913), Vol. II, .  Zafforini was active in Dublin between 1799 and 1811, working at the theatres in Crow Street and Peter Street.  Together with JOHN MEARES  JOHN MEARES he decorated the stairhall at Aldborough House with paintings featuring its owner, the second Earl of Aldborough and his wife with other mythological and historical figures.  He also decorated the library ceiling and the panels, ceiling and cornice of the ballroom.
