Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of 6 Kroegerstrasse, Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany, who designed the Swiss Cottage at Clooncahir, Co. Leitrim, for the third Earl of Leitrim in 1864.  Gramm can almost certainly be identified as Johann Christian Gramm, author of Der Architekt für Freunde der schoenen Baukunst. Facaden, Grundrisse und Details (Frankfurt an Main: Jügel, 1854).  The third earl presumably met Gramm in Frankfurt when he was there in August 1863 to find a school for Matilda Stevenson, his ten-year-old protegée (or perhaps daughter).(1)
