Civil engineer, of Killarney, Co. Kerry. According to his brass memorial in St Mary's Church of Ireland church, Killarney, Thomas Leahy, sixth son of John Leahy, JP, of Southhill, Co. Kerry, was born on 25 January 1825. He lived at Carriglea, near Killarney, for forty years before his death on 3 December 1903. The monument also commemorates his younger brother, Arthur Leahy of Flesk, Co. Kerry (1830-1878), who was a colonel in the Royal Engineers and died in Netley Military Hospital, Southampton, as the result of a fever contracted while on duty in Gibraltar.
