Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Irish-born architect, of Loughton, Essex.   Edmond Egan was born in Killarney in 1840 and received his architectural education in a surveyor's office.  When he left Ireland is not recorded, but by 1871 he had moved to England and settled in Loughton, Essex, where he developed a successful practice.   According to his obituary in the journal of the RIBA, he led an 'exceedingly busy' life.   He died on 3 April 1899.
