Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, of Ballycastle, Co. Antrim. James Bradshaw, a son of GEORGE THEOBALD MATHEW BRADSHAW GEORGE THEOBALD MATHEW BRADSHAW , engineer to the Ballycastle Railway Co., served an apprenticeship in Coleraine, and after obtaining an engineering degree, spent nine years in Africa with the Gold Coast railways. He succeeded his father as engineer to the Ballycastle railway, and held the position until the railway closed in 1924. He was appointed engineer to the Ballycastle Rural Boards. He died at home in Ballycastle, in 1935, survived by his wife and one brother, Malachy Bradshaw, of the Board of Works, Dublin.(1)
