Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Bricklayer, of Grafton Street, Dublin, whose will, written on 10 December 1717, was proved in 1719. Ralph Evans, 'the elder', had a house in Grafton Street and considerable property in the south east of the city, including yards and a lime kiln. His immediate family consisted of his wife, Joan, two daughters, Elizabeth Taylor and Mary Dodd, and three sons, John, Ralph and Peter.(1)   Ralph, senior, and Ralph, junior were among several speculators who built houses in Dawson Street, which was laid out and developed between 1707 and 1728.(2)
