Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English architect, of Farnham, Surrey, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), II, 1043-4. In Ireland Wonnacutt designed a Methodist church and manse at Cobh, Co. Cork, in 1873(1) and another Methodist church at the Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare, in 1876.(1)

Building: CO. KILDARE, CURRAGH, LUMVILLE, METHODIST CHURCH (1876)
Date: 1876
Nature: New church for 500 worshippers in centre of camp replacing 'iron chapel which was erected on the skirts of the plain, about three miles distant from the huts'. Substantial brick edifice with stone dressings.  FS laid 24 Jun 1876. Contractor: Matthew Irwin, Newbridge. To cost about £2000.
