Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer and town planner, of Portlaoise and Dublin, active during the 1930s and 1940s. Thomas White studied engineering at University College, Dublin, obtaining the BE and BSc degrees in 1932. During the 1930s he designed a large housing scheme for the Portlaoise Town Commissioners. At some point in the 1940s he worked for the Dublin Corporation Housing Department, but he seems to have returned to Portlaoise in about 1949.
