'Architect', of Dublin, active from the late 1880s until the early 1900s. James Whelan was employed by Celbridge Rural District Council in the early 1900s. Perhaps the same person as the builder named James Whelan, of 87 Dalymount, North Circular Road, who is listed in the directories for 1896 and 1900.
