Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Master of the Guild of Bricklayers (or Guild of St Bartholomew) at St Audoen's Arch in 1786.(1) Joseph Armstrong seems to have acted as measurer of stonework for the new theatre at TCD in 1779(2). A Joseph Armstrong, perhaps his son, was admitted a Freeman of Dublin as a member of the Bricklayers' Guild by virtue of birth at Michaelmas 1795 and an Edward Armstrong at Michaelmas 1798.(3)
