Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer. William Acheson Traill was born on 2 September 1844, the third son of William Traill of Ballylough, Co. Antrim, by his second wife, Louisa Henrietta, daughter of Robert ffrench of Monivea Castle, Co. Galway.(1) He obtained the Licentiate in Civil Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1867.(2) He is probably the W.A. Traill, MA and CE of Portrush, Co. Antrim, who became a member of the RSAI in 1883.(3) He was engineer for the water supply scheme at Portballintrae, Co. Antrim, in 1900.(4)
