Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer, active from the 1840s until the 1860s or later. Mathew Edward Talbot, second son of James Talbot (1794-1850) of Knockmullen, Co. Wexford, was born circa 1869. He worked nine years with the Drainage Commissioners and six years with the Wexford Harbour Reclamation Company before becoming contractor's engineer for the Borris Viaduct. In 1861 he was appointed resident engineer to the Dublin, Wicklow & Wexford Railway Company, a post which he held until 1865 or later.(1) He died, unmarried, on 20 March 1869.
