Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect , of Dublin.   Joseph Thomas Tallon can perhaps be identified as the Joseph Thomas Tallon, son of Patrick and Winifred Tallon, who was born in Dublin on 5 January 1877.(1)   He was apprenticed to WILLIAM HAGUE [2]& WILLIAM HAGUE [2]& nbsp; from 1896 to 1900 and then spent twelve months as an assistant in the office of Bradshaw & Gass of Bolton, Lancashire. In 1901 he entered the office of the Dublin City Architect, CHARLES JAMES MCCARTHY CHARLES JAMES MCCARTHY , where he remained for at least fifteen years.   He disappears from the membership lists of the RIAI after 1916, and nothing futher is known of his architectural career.

RIAI: elected member, 7 March 1904, having been proposed by C.J. McCarthy and seconded by GEORGE COPPINGER ASHLIN  GEORGE COPPINGER ASHLIN and ROBERT JOHN STIRLING ROBERT JOHN STIRLING ;(2) ceased membership after 1916.
