English civil engineer, surveyor and architect, of Gloucester and later of Bristol, for whom see Howard Colvin, A Biographical dictionary of British architects 1600-1840 (4th edn, 2008), 993. In Ireland Stratford designed the Market House at Newtownards, Co. Down (1765-1771).
