City engineer of Limerick, 1932-1964. Charles Stenson, who was born circa 1899, was awarded the BE degree by University College, Cork, and gained further engineering experience on the Shannon Hydro-Electric Scheme at Ardnacrusha and in Chester. He was appointed Limerick city engineer in 1932, following the retirement of J.J. PEACOCKE PEACOCKE , and remained in the post until his death at the age of 65 in January 1964. He founded the Limerick Symphony Concert Society and was also a keen gardener. His wife, Bridget, survived him.
