Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect and engineer, of Derry City. John McFarlane Robinson, who, according to the 1911 census, was born in Co. Tyrone, in 1870 or 1871,  was a son of WILLIAM J. ROBINSON WILLIAM J. ROBINSON , the Derry city surveyor. He probably trained in his father's office; the first mention of him in the Irish Builder is as his father's clerk of works for building a filter bed at Rosemount in 1899.(1) By 1900 he was working in Omagh,(2) but by 1902 he had established a practice in Derry, where he appears to have remained for the rest of his life. He died in 1932 or 1933.(3)
