Architect, of London, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), II, 41, and Dictionary of Scottish Architects, www.scottisharchitects.org.uk (last visited Apr 2009). John Macvicar Anderson was a nephew of WILLIAM BURN , with whom he worked and whose practice he took over on Burn's death in 1870. In Ireland he worked for Mervyn Wingfield, seventh Viscount Powerscourt, on additions and alterations to Powerscourt House, Co. Wicklow, between 1864 and 1886.(1)
