Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer with the Great Southern Railway. David McCoy, who, according to the 1911 census, was born in Waterford in 1870 or 1871, was an authority on railway track.   He worked first for the Waterford & Limerick Railway, and then, after that line was amalgamated with the Great Southern Railway, 'officiated at Inchicore, Broadstone and Westland Row'. He retired after fifty years service in about 1929.   At the time of the 1911 census, he was a widower, living in lodgings at 50 Oakley Road, Rathmines.
