Nature: 'In car park opposite St Patrick's Cathedral' . 41 ft high in granite and limestone, commemorating captain and crew of lifeboat who drowned in attempt to rescue the 'Mary Stoddart' in Dundalk Bay, Apr 1858. Not erected till 1879. Contractor: Pettigrew, Navan.
