Architect, of Belfast. Alexander Macalister was born in Carlow but moved at an early age to Belfast, where he trained as an architect. With TIMOTHY HEVEY TIMOTHY HEVEY , he was one of the leading Catholic architects of Victorian Belfast. By the end of his life he had taken his youngest son, CHARLES MACALISTER CHARLES MACALISTER , into partnership. He died at the end of 1897 at the age of seventy-six.
