Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Sculptor, of Rome, active in the 1830s and 1840s, who, in partnership with an unknown Italian master carver, executed the monument to Archbishop John Thomas Troy (d. 1838) in the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin.(1)   He is presumably the same person as the sculptor named Leonardi who carved the high altar and canopy for Tuam Cathedral (RC) in the 1830s.(2)   In 1844 he contracted to execute an altar and tabernacle for the Earl of Fingall, presumably for the new chapel at Killeen Castle.(3)
