Carpenter, of Dublin. Isaac Lancake was admitted to the Dublin Society's School of Drawing in Architecture on 7 February 1771 and was awarded a premium by the school on 26 May 1774 as one of the three students aged over eighteen who had produced the best drawings in architecture.(1)

An Isaac Lancake, who may be his father, is named in the will of John Wilmot of Dublin, who mentions among other property his 'house in Kildare Street which I purchased from Isaac Landcake, decd., now inhabited by the Countess Dowager Aldborough' and 'two houses in Indian Alley assigned to me by Bridget Lancake, relict of Isaac Lancake, of city of Dublin, carpenter, decd.'(2) The Isaac Lancake in question here may be the person of the same name who married Bridget Monkilerick at St Michan's church, Dublin, on 27 February 1741, when he was about twenty-six.(3)
