Architect, of Coleraine, active from circa 1907 until circa 1938. According to the 1911 census, James Sherriff Kennedy, eldest son of James Kennedy, builder, and his wife, Sarah Guthrie, was born in Co. Derry 1887 or 1888. He became a pupil of FREDERICK HENRY TULLOCH in Belfast in 1907, when he passed the preliminary examination to qualify as a probationer of the RIBA.(1) He had established an office in Brige Street, Coleraine, by 1914.(2) He was engineer to Limavady Board of Guardians and Limavady Rural District Council, resigning both posts in 1937.(3)
