Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English amateur architect of German descent, for whom see Howard Colvin,A Biographical dictionary of British architects 1600-1840 (4th edn., 2008), 562-3, and Alan Borg, 'Theodore Jacobsen:  A gentleman well versed in the Science of Architecture' in Colum Hourihane, ed., Irish Art Historical Studies in honour of Peter Harbison (Princeton & Dublin, 2004), 276-294.  Jacobsen is best known as the architect of the Foundling Hospital in London (1742-1752).  His last recorded scheme was for the west front and the court known as Parliament Square at Trinity College, Dublin (1752-1759). Working drawings from his designs were prepared by the English architects Henry Keene and John Sanderson.(1)
