Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

English sculptor, for biography of whom see Geoffrey Beard, The Work of Grinling Gibbons (1989). Gibbons's works in Ireland - the equestrian statue of William III in College Green,(1) the Southwell monuments in Kinsale Church and the monument to Narcissus Marsh (d. 1713) in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin,(2) were all executed before 1720 and fall outside the scope of this database.
