Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect of Derry City,(1) who worked for the Ecclesiastical Commissioners in the late 1830s.(2) An undated plan by William Hagarty(sic) of the roof of Carrickhugh, Co. Derry, is among the McCurdy & Mitchell drawings in the Irish Architectural Archive.(3) An architect of this name is listed in the Belfast and Province of Ulster Directory for 1852 with an address at Strand Road, Derry.

Nature: New church (replacing one of 1786) for Ecclesiastical Commissioners. 3-bay nave, lit by lancets, niches between windows, west door, no porch. Iron roof girders. Bell turret on W gable and decorative feature on E gable.

Nature: New (barely) cruciform church on new site at Mullinacaw for Ecclesiastical Commissioners. Opened 4 apr 1841 and cons. 6 Aug 1841. Tower added 1915.
