Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Civil engineer, of Carlow. William Patrick Hade, son of James or John Hade,(1) civil engineer of Carlow, was born in Carlow in 1858 or 1859. From the age of nineteen until the age of twenty-two he was a pupil of his much older brother ARTHUR HADE ARTHUR HADE , and for the next few years was engaged on drainage work. By the time he was twenty-eight, according to his own account, he had 'a considerable private practice'. He is described as 'engineer to Carlow County Council' in 1901.(2). By  the time of the 1911 census he was a widower, living with Arthur at  28 Dublin Street, Carlow.   He died on 9 September 1940.(3)

A 'W. Hade of Carlow' was an unsuccessful candidate for the surveyorship of Athy Union in 1876.(4)
