Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Engineer and land agent of Killeagh, Co. Cork.(1)   Edwin Green was born in England in 1856 or 1857 but at some stage settled in Ireland.  What brought him to Co. Cork is not recorded.   He may have settled there as early as 1883 or 1884 when he married his Co. Cork-born wife, Elizabeth.   By 1900 he had become a magistrate for the county,(2) which suggests that he was an established inhabitant.  Various minor works by him  for Youghal Urban District Council  and Youghal Board of Guardians are recorded in the Irish Builder between 1903 and 1906.

Address:  Killeagh, Co. Cork, <=1900->=1911.
