Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect or builder, of Donegal, active in the 1820s. According to the Ordnance Survey memoirs for Co. Donegal, 'Mr Graham' erected the parish churches of Donegal and Killymard and a five-arched bridge at Corwin in the parish of Donegal.(1) In an undated typescript history of the Donegal parish church (copy in IAA) he is identified as William Graham.

Nature: Simple Gothic, with cut stone ashlar tower and spire, 'erected by Mr Graham of Donegal…and does considerable credit to the architect' (OS Memoir). Consecrated 1831. (Date given as 1826 by OS Memoir and as 1828 in undated typescript history of church.)

Nature: New church replacing earlier church on coast. 3-bay hall with buttresses and pinnacled bellcote, 'erected by Mr Graham in 1829 at a cost of 900 pounds' (OS Memoir). Board of First Fruits granted loan of £800.
