Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Civil engineer. Fforde, an Ulsterman, worked in Brazil, Gibraltar, Canada, Singapore, and the United States. His last post before his retirement in 1931 was that of resident engineer for the constuction of the Killindini Docks at Mombasa, Kenya. Betwwen 1938 and 1942 he resumed engineering work and was involved in the constuction of important war works. He died in 1949.
