BAIRD, THOMAS *

Plumbing and hydraulic engineer of the firm of William Baird, 12 Lower Abbey Street, Dublin. According to the 1911 census, Thomas Baird was born in Co. Westmeath circa 1866.(1)  When the census was taken he was living in Clontarf with his wife, Kathleen, and three young sons.  A paper which he read to the Architectural Association of Ireland in December 1905 on 'Plumbing Constructing with special reference to water supplies for country houses' was published in the Irish Builder in January 1906.(2)
