Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Lighthouse engineer, active in the 1880s and 1890s.  Frederick Foot, who was born in Co. Kilkenny probably in 1843 or 1844  was resident engineer for the construction of the Mew Island lighthouse, Belfast, Bull Rock Lighthouse, Co. Cork, and the shore depot for the Fastnet Lighthouse at Crookhaven, Co. Cork.(1) At the time of the 1911 census of Ireland he was fifty-seven years old and held the post of superintendent of the Irish Lights Depot in Dun Laoghaire.
