Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

According to the Westmeath Independent of 27 December 1851, the designs for the new block house at the entrance to the Custume Barracks, Athlone, 'originated with Mr Constable of the Engineer department, under whose superintendence they are now being carried out by the contractor, Mr Colbourn'.(1)
