Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Glandore, Co. Cork, active in the 1880s. Fitzjohn De Burgh appears to have been a younger son of John Hamilton Hussey de Burgh of Dromkeen, Co. Limerick.(1) His designs for a forge and shops on the Carbery estates in Baltimore, Co. Cork, with specifications and letters to J.R. Stewart, all dated between March and May 1885, were formerly among the papers of Mssrs. Stewart and Kincaid, Dublin, and are now in the collection of Thomas Pakenham, Tullynally.

(1) Information from www.familysearch.org, which gives his date of birth as circa 1851. According to Burke’s Irish Family Records (1976), 344, John Hamilton Hussey de Burgh's third son, who was born in 1850 and died in 1896, was called simply John.
