Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architectural draughtsman and scholar, for biography of whom see Oxford DNB. This account states that he was born in Cumberland, but according to Mulvany's Life of James Gandon(1846), he was a native of Ireland and studied drawing at Robert West's academy.(1) He travelled with the Earl of Charlemont in the eastern Mediterranean in 1749.(2)
