A Mr Coneys is stated in Dutton's Statistical Survey of Co. Galway to have been the architect of Clifden Church, Co. Galway,(1) built for John D'Arcy of Clifden between 1815 and 1824. He was possibly an amateur; a John Coneys, Esq., of Cluankin, Tuam, Co. Galway, was a subscriber to Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland(1837). There was also an architectural draftsman from London named John Coney who exhibited views of English churches and cathedrals at the Royal Academy between 1805 and 1821.
