Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Architect, of Rome.   According to the Allgemeines Künsterlexicon, Andrea Busiri Vici, architect to Pope Pius the Ninth and chief architect for the fabric of St Peter's in Rome, made plans for a 'Kolleg und Kirche von S Giovanni Della Croce in Dublin'.(1)  This may have been a project for Holy Cross College and Church, Dublin, which were built to designs by JOHN BOURKE  JOHN BOURKE and JAMES JOSEPH MCCARTHY  JAMES JOSEPH MCCARTHY respectively. Several Italian craftsmen contributed work to the church.
