Architectural partnership, of Dublin, which came into being in 1925, when JOHN JOSEPH ROBINSON JOHN JOSEPH ROBINSON and RICHARD CYRIL KEEFE RICHARD CYRIL KEEFE split away from the partnership of DONNELLY MOORE KEEFE & ROBINSON DONNELLY MOORE KEEFE & ROBINSON to set up their own practice at 8 Merrion Square. They were joined in the partnership by Robinson's son Patrick J. Robinson in 1945 and by Andrew D. Devane by the beginning of the following year, after which the practice was known as ROBINSON KEEFE & DEVANE. ROBINSON KEEFE & DEVANE. Both Robinson and Keefe died in 1965, but the practice which bears their names has continued to the present day (2001).
The association between Robinson and Keefe originated in 1912, when they formed their original partnership, known as KEEFE & ROBINSON KEEFE & ROBINSON . Early in the First World War Keefe joined the Army Service Corps and was sent to France. In about 1916, while the war was still in progress, Keefe and Robinson formed an association with ROBERT DONNELLY ROBERT DONNELLY and JAMES MOORE JAMES MOORE , who were also on active service. After the war, in the spring of 1919, the four men moved from their respective offices in Nassau Street and Fleet Street to American Chambers, 14 Lower Sackville Street, and practised as Donnelly, Moore, Keefe & Robinson until 1925. Pupils and assistants in the office of Robinson & Keefe included THOMAS JOHN CARBERRY THOMAS JOHN CARBERRY , JOHN O'GORMAN JOHN O'GORMAN and EDWIN WILLIAM SQUIRE. EDWIN WILLIAM SQUIRE.
