Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Surveyor and engineer, of Larne, Co. Antrim.  According to the 1911 census, Samuel Robinson, who was born in Co. Antrim in 1859 or 1860, was an assistant county surveyor for Co. Antrim at the time  He is probably the Samuel Robinson of Barnhill, Larne, who was already active as a surveyor in Larne in 1903.(2)  Thom's directories record a Samuel Robinson as an assistant county surveyor for Co. Antrim from 1918 or earler until 1949 or 1950.  As Samuel Robinson of the 1911 census would have been about ninety in 1950, it is possible that he was at some point succeeded in the post by his son Samuel, who was only seven at the time of the census .

Addresses:  62 Curran Street, Larne, 1911;  Victoria Street, Larne, <=1933(3)->=1939.(4)
