Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

William Kirwan was awarded one of seven unclassed premiums by the Royal Dublin Society's School of Drawing in Architecture on 12 December 1833. Other Kirwans who were admitted to the School at about the same time were Michael W. Kirwan, admitted 1 March 1827, Thomas Kirwan, admitted 24 February 1831, and Montague Kirwan, admitted 3 November 1831.(1) Some or all of these may have been connected with the stone and marble manufacturer MICHAEL C.
