Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Civil engineer, of London, for biography of whom see Oxford DNB and obituary in Min.Proc.Inst.CE 117, 364-376. Hawksley became one of the leading experts on water supply systems and was responsible for the design and construction of waterworks for towns and cities throughout England as well as for Stockholm and Altona. In Ireland he designed the waterworks at Wexford in 1877(1) and at Waterford at about the same time.(2)   He was also retained as a consultant by the Cork City pipe water committee.(3)
