Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Carpenter and architect of Cork. James Hacket placed an advertisement in the Cork Gazette for 9 July 1794, stating that he, 'having experienced a variety of losses…and much impaired health and having a large charge of 5 children and a wife and now confined for debt in the City Gaol', would give instruction 'in several branches of drawing in architecture'.(1) A person of the same name died aged seventy-two at Batchelor's Quay, Cork, on 15 December 1800.(2)
