Architect, of London, for whom see Directory of British Architects 1834-1914 (RIBA 2001), I, 79. Maxwell Ayrton, who with John Simpson had designed Wembley Stadium (1924), was chosen as architect for the airport buildings at at the proposed new transatlantic air terminal at Furbough, Co. Galway, in 1932.(1) The scheme was never realised.
