Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Clerk of works responsible for the initial stages of the enlargement of Hillsborough House, 1795, to designs by ROBERT WILLIAM FURZE BRETTINGHAM  ROBERT WILLIAM FURZE BRETTINGHAM for the second Marquess of Downshire. William Forsyth was required to carry out modifications to the house which were demanded by the Marquess when it was already half built.(1) By November 1795 he had been succeeded by R. SHARLAND. SHARLAND. (2)
