Dictionary of Irish Architects 1720 - 1940

Russian-born mosaic artist, who settled in London. Boris Anrep was one of the first mosaicists of modern times to design his own cartoons as well as to execute them. Among his most important works are the mosaic floors of the three vestibules and half-way landing of the entrance hall at the National Gallery, London, carried out between 1928 and 1952.(1) In Ireland he designed and executed the mosaics for the chapels of St Patrick (1948) and St Ann (1954) in Mullingar Cathedral.
